Free Adaptive Dance Program at the Kimmel Center

Sat March 23, 2019Sat March 30, 2019Sat April 6, 2019Sat April 13, 2019Sun April 14, 2019
Just Dance! adaptive dance and movement program will be held over six Saturday morning classes and culminate in a showcase for children to share their experience with the community.  The program is designed to create access to dance for children who may have physical or developmental challenges through looking at dance through different lenses; dance as made up of movement, action, space, energy and time.  Dancers will be presented with activities which explore these themes and asked to creatively examine what “dance” means to them.  The teaching artists will create adaptations and supports for all dancers to be able participate by deepening the definition of what is traditionally thought of as dance.  To celebrate the children’s’ dance exploration, a final performance will celebrate the individuality of the participants with their loved ones and the greater community.

Please see the attached flyer to register.
